BIX is known for a deep devotion to local products and suppliers. Much of our food comes directly to the restaurant from local farms. Bruce, Emmanuel and their culinary team can be found every Saturday at the storied Farmer's Market at the San Francisco Ferry Building sourcing the finest ingredients.
Inspired by its location in San Francisco's Jackson Square, and appreciative of the city's culinary roots, BIX's menu is a combination of the classic and the new, with a laser-like focus on local ingredients and usage of modern techniques. The way San Franciscans eat now.

Following recommendations from local officials, the RME offices where the museum is located is moving to being open by appointment. Upon consulting with our partners at the RME, we do not require appointments made in advance to enter the museum, but the offices may not be open at their regular hours throughout the week. To make sure the museum is open, please contact us at 563-326-1333 Ext. 114 or email us at contactbixmuseum@gmail.comprior to coming to the museum or to schedule a time to come. We ask that while in the RME and the museum itself, please practice safe distancing to help slow the spread. The Bix Museum also offers small group or individual tours of the museum upon request, especially on select Saturdays. After nearly a century, the music of legendary cornetist, pianist and composer Bix Beiderbecke still draws awestruck admiration from fans around the world. Treasured recordings keep alive his unique tone, melodic style, lyrical phrasing and heart-stopping improvisations.
This new museum in Bix's hometown of Davenport, Iowa, is a must stop for jazz and history lovers. Visitors will learn of his brief but eventful life at the dawn of the 20th century, view rare films and listen to his incomparable music.

The museum graces the lower level of the River Music Experience building, 2nd and Main Streets, in downtown Davenport.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Saturdays have moved to by appointment only.
Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted.
