Mouse and trackpad support for iPad or iPhone is part of Apple’s Accessibility services. Apple has added mouse or trackpad support on iPhone and iPad to aid people with physical disabilities. That’s why you can find the option to add a mouse or trackpad in the Accessibility settings on your device. So iPad now can use cursor with trackpad or mouse. That’s what Apple advertised on the new iPad. But not many known – at least for now, that cursor is also working on iPhone. In case you are not really following the tech news, finally after 10 years or so, Apple made iPad to be compatible with trackpad and mouse.

  1. Connect your devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on both devices.
    • If you want to control a Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences on your computer.
    • Select Accessibility. In the sidebar, choose Switch Control.
    • Check the checkbox next to 'Allow platform switching to control your computer.'
  3. If you haven't already, turn on Switch Control on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  4. Use your switch to navigate the Switch Control menu. Select Device.
  5. Select Use Other Device.
  6. Select the device that you want to control, then select Connect. Now you can use the switch connected to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to control the other device.

Use your Mac to control another device

  1. Connect your devices to the same Wi-Fi network.

  3. If you haven't already, turn on Switch Control on your Mac.
  4. Use your switch to navigate the Switch Control Home panel. Choose Devices.
